Official launch of Hyundai-Berjaya head office and Inokom Matrix 1.6 and Inokom Atos 1.1
Hyundai-Berjaya Sdn Bhd marked yet another important milestone in its development and growth, with the official inaugural of its head office and launch of both the 'Inokom Matrix 1.6' and 'Inokom Atos 1.1' on September 27, 2004, in Shah Alam by YB Dato' Seri Rafidah Aziz, Minister of International Trade and Industry Malaysia.
The new building is indeed a symbol of success and achievement for Hyundai-Berjaya which houses the head office, Inokom's components' Procurement Department and the central Hyundai Parts Centre. It is the hub of all activities that ensures Malaysians get affordable Inokom vehicles, imported Hyundai lifestyle vehicles and good after sales services.
YB Dato' Seri Rafidah Aziz, in her keynote address during the launch of Inokom Matrix 1.6 and Inokom Atos 1.1 said that the process of liberalisation has resulted in greater competition in the automotive industry. Thus, it is important for manufacturers, distributors and dealers in the industry to keep abreast with the global business environment and discerning market demand, in order to remain competitive and resilient.
"Automotive companies must produce innovative designs, high value added and quality vehicles, and implement effective marketing and promotion strategies to take advantage of business opportunities available in both the domestic and international markets".
"The Malaysian Government has assumed an important role in providing an enabling environment to ensure that Malaysia remains a predictable, secure and profitable business location. The business community must then avail themselves of the incentives and programmes offered to local and foreign entrepreneurs, and take advantage of them" added Dato' Seri Rafidah Aziz.
With a total investment of RM180 million, the close partnership between Hyundai Motor Company of Korea and Inokom has been a major engineering breakthrough in the automotive industry. Indeed, the dawning of the assembly plant is a testament to the increasing sales volume of Inokom vehicles. "The plant today has not only provided employment for thousands of residents in the Kulim area but rather it has conceived a new and advance technology from Korea" said YBhg Tan Sri Datuk Abdul Rahim, Chairman of Hyundai Corporation Berhad during his welcome speech.
Equipped with a new 1.1 litre engine, new rounded fog lights, new horizontal type side mirrors and new smooth surface front and rear bumper, the Inokom Atos is presently all set to make getting around a whole lot easier.
Among those present at this auspicious event were YBhg Dato' Ben Yeoh, Executive Director CEO of Hyundai-Berjaya Sdn Bhd, Yg Mulia Dato' Dr Tengku Rethwan Mansor, Chairman of Hyumal Motor Sdn Bhd, Mr Hwang Sung Yun, Director of Hyundai Motor Company (Asia Region) and En Amer Hamzah, Chairman of Inokom Corporation Sdn Bhd.
