Hyundai-Sime
Darby Motors Sdn Bhd
(formerly known as Hyundai-Berjaya Sdn Bhd) will continue to be the sole and
exclusive distributor for Hyundai complete-built-up (CBU) vehicles, as well
as the two models built by INOKOM Corporation Sdn Bhd.
INOKOM Corporation Sdn Bhd, being one of the manufacturing members of
Sime Darby Motors Sdn Bhd, meanwhile has plans to expand its plant capacity
to 30,000 vehicles a year from the 20,000 now. This new manufacturing
capacity, involving an investment of about RM14million, will be completed
by the year end.
Hyumal Motor Sdn Bhd (the official Distributor/Importer of Hyundai CBU
products) will continue to upgrade its after-sales services network and
facilities throughout the country to meet the expected escalation demand
for Inokom and Hyundai vehicles. Also the increasing demand for parts
have been addressed with a new warehouse facility in Glenmarie.
Now that the three Hyundai-linked companies are part of the Sime Darby’s
Group, Sime Darby Berhad shall provide the support in expanding the
current business activities of all these companies.
“Sime will be able to take Hyundai (Malaysia’s) operations
to the next level. This will in turn continue to strengthen Hyundai as
one of the best-selling and fast-growing brand names in Malaysia,” said
Dato’ Ben Yeoh, Executive Director CEO, Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors
Sdn Bhd.
