TWO ALL-NEW HYUNDAI MODELS LAUNCHED
4 January 2006, Subang Jaya – Two all-new Hyundai cars were unveiled here this evening by Yg. Bhg. Dato’ Ahmad Zubir Murshid, Group Chief Executive, Sime Darby Bhd. The Hyundai Azera TG 3.3 and the Hyundai Sonata NF 2.4 were the stars of the evening in the grand ballroom of a leading hotel here.
“The launch of the two exciting and sophisticated models here tonight is proof that Hyundai-Sime Darby motors is committed to heightening the motoring pleasure of the Malaysian motorists,” said Yg. Bhg. Dato’ Ben Yeoh in his speech, Managing Director of Hyundai Operations. He further elaborated that by bringing the latest vehicles from Hyundai Motor Company, the Malaysian motor industry is exposed to the most advanced technologies and from an alternate source like Korea.
The European-styled Hyundai Azera TG 3.3 is the flagship of the Hyundai stable. Its graceful lines match the good aerodynamics for that pleasant look from any angle. The large passenger compartment complete with all the amenities expected of a luxury class car ensures total comfort for all the occupants. Among its long list of features is the all-new 3.3-litre aluminium alloy V6 engine that is both economical and powerful. The use of a continuously variable valve timing (CVVT), multi-point fuel injection system and a Variable Intake System (VIS) are some of the contributions of the new engine’s versatility. Safety features of the NCAP 5-star rated sedan includes eight airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESP), 4-wheel disc brakes and a very strong passenger compartment. The basic car price for the fully imported Hyundai Azera TG 3.3 is RM220,000.
Just recently launched worldwide is the Hyundai Sonata NF. Already it has a five-star rating for its NCAP crash tests and is among the best in fuel consumption ratings for its class in the United States of America. The success lies with the all-new tough unitary body design and the Theta-series aluminium alloy engine with new features found only in vehicles that are more expensive. The rigidity of the passenger compartment had been increased to match the high expectations of modern motorists and regulations where safety is their priority. The engine has many new features like balancer shafts, long-life silent timing chain, CVVT and molybdenum coated pistons. The suspension system has been improved to ensure higher motoring pleasure and instant response to the driver’s every need. Basic car price of the fully imported Hyundai Sonata NF 2.4 is RM150,000.
With the launch of the Hyundai Azera TG 3.3 and the Sonata NF 2.4, Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors has increased its range of cars for the Malaysian motorists to choose from. The company currently has the sole distribution rights for the locally manufactured INOKOM Lorimas, Atos Prima, Matrix and the fully imported Hyundai models like the Getz, Trajet, Tucson, Coupe, Santa Fe and the XG.
Also launched at the same evening was the Auto Elite Privilege Card. All new owners of passenger vehicles purchased from Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors and its authorised dealers from this January onwards will be given the card, which entitles the bearer to discounts when they patronise any of the participating merchants.
The initial batch of supporting merchants is Berjaya Hotel & Resorts, Caractère, Continental Tyres, Kenny Rogers Roasters, Magic Glare, Mötivi, Oxbow, Shell, Starbucks Coffee and Takaful Ikhlas.
