In the presence of invited guests, members of the media and dealers, the all-new Santa Fe CRDi was unveiled in commemoration of the Hyundai 3S Centre opening. The luxurious and highly acclaimed SUV comes with a turbo-charged diesel engine featuring VGT or variable geometry turbo. The VGT is unique to Hyundai in that the vane angles of the turbo-charger vary according to driving requirements, thus ensuring instant power response or fuel sipping cruising modes in a seamless transformation. The 7-seater Santa Fe has a 2.7-litre V6 petrol engine version for those who prefer conventional motoring. The Santa Fe is of exceptional value for a well equipped and fully imported SUV from Korea.
The Santa Fe was polled by Strategic Vision as the best in Total Quality Index (TQI) for the small SUV sector in North America. The result is a survey of 27,000 buyers of 2007 models during the last quarter of 2006 in North America and is based on ownership satisfaction expressed in a number of key issues covering buying, owning and driving their new vehicles.
The Santa Fe CRDi features a high tech diesel engine that is in compliance to Euro III emission standards. It has a direct injection common rail fuel supply system for the ultimate in fuel system. Engine balancer shafts and other attention to details ensure a quiet and vibration-free engine without sacrificing reliability and performance.
The heart of the petrol engine version is no less packed with technological features. The V6 engine is an all-aluminium alloy construction for light weight and fast engine warm-up. There are four camshafts with Continuously Variable Valve Timing (CVVT) driving 24 valves to ensure superb performance at all engine speeds.
